Dwarka- The Lord Krishna Abode with Historical Significance

Jagat Mandir's Dwarkadhish Temple 

Significance: This is the principal Lord Krishna temple. Over 2,500 years ago, Vajranabh, the great-grandson of Krishna, reportedly erected the first temple. Renowned for its magnificent design, the temple has a five-story construction held up by seventy-two pillars.

Arti timings: Mangla Aarti (early morning prayer), Shringar Aarti (decorating the idol), Sandhya Aarti (evening prayer), and Shayan Aarti (night prayer) the temple has various unique poojas.  

Rukmini Devi Temple 

Significance: Designed for Lord Krishna's spouse, Rukmini This temple has complex sculptures and carvings representing different Hindu mythological events. Worshiping at this temple and the Dwarkadhish Temple is said to finish the journey to Dwarka.

Bet Dwarka

How to reach: From Okha, easily via boat. The boat trip itself is a wonderful experience with beautiful Arabian Sea views.

Gangi Ghat 

Significance: A holy river ghat where visitors to the Dwarkadhish Temple immerse in holiness. Being near the junction of the Arabian Sea and the Gomti River, the ghat is spiritually important.

Extra Characteristics: Many little temples and shrines border the ghat. Pilgrims think that dipping in the Gomti River helps them to atone for their sins and cleanses their soul.

Bhalka Thirth 

Significance: Jara, a hunter, shot Lord Krishna by accident with an arrow. For those who follow Lord Krishna, this site is very important as it represents the conclusion of his earthly trip.

Special Features: Situated in peaceful surroundings, the temple at Bhalka Tirth honors Lord Krishna. Meditating here is said to offer clarity and tranquility. 

Triveni Sangam 

Significance: Three sacred rivers—Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati cross here. It is said that this confluence is very lucky, hence dipping here helps one of all sins to be cleansed.

How to Reach Dwarka and Somnath? 

From Delhi to Dwarka 

By Air: About 137km from Dwarka, Jamnagar is the closest airport. Delhi to Jamnagar direct flights are in line. From Jamnagar, you may bus or cab your way to Dwarka 

By rail: Direct routes run from Delhi to Dwarka. The Dwarka railway station has close access to many Indian cities. Two often used trains are the Okha Express and the Uttaranchal Express. 

By Road: From major Gujarat cities, regular bus and taxi connections abound. For a more comfortable ride, you may either choose self-drive or hire a taxi. 

From Dwarka to Somnath 

By train: Trains from Dwarka to Veraval—the closest railway station to Somnath are accessible. The trip calls for six to seven hours. From Veraval, Somnath is only a short cab or auto-rickshaw ride away. 

By Road: From Dwarka to Somnath, state transport buses and private cabs are on hand. About 230 kilometers separates it, and the travel takes five to six hours. 

From Somnath to Delhi 

By Air: About 85 kms from Somnath, Diu is the closest airport. Delhi flies abound with layovers at Mumbai or Ahmedabad. From Diu, a bus or cab will get you to Somnath. 

By rail: Direct trains run from Delhi to Veraval. Just 7km from Somnath, the Veraval railway station is reachable by taxi or auto-rickshaw from the temple.
